How to backup your configuration files and share them on the internet

There is a website called dotfiles where backup your local user UNIX/Linux/BSD configuration files. The dotfiles name comes from the way config files are stored for local users. They generally start with a dot to make them hidden files.

To backup and share these files

1. Goto: http://dotfiles.org/
2. Create a user name
3. Click add file
4. The first field is the files name, the second is the files content, and the last is the description.
   • As your config files change you can edit them accordingly.
